EXTERNAL COMPETITIONS 2012

 

We are looking for Easthampstead members to represent your Club in external competitions. 

 

If you are interested in team golf, please enter your name and current handicap on the sheets on the club notice board. 

Alternatively, email me on garylopez@ntlworld.com or speak to any of the team captains.

As far as possible we try to arrange matches not to coincide with club competitions, but on occasions, this is unavoidable.
You may be asked to play in a team that is playing away from the Downshire.

You will be asked to wear a club shirt in these matches. Speak to Chris Joseph to buy a shirt.

Seniors Golf Association Competitions

 

These are the competitions we have entered so far.

 

Mail on Sunday National Golf Club Classic

 

 An National inter-club matchplay knockout competition . 5 players. 

1st round away against Sandmartins 28th January.

Daily Mail  National Golf Club Classic

 

 An National inter-club matchplay knockout competition . Foursomes. Matchplay.

1st round draw early February.  Representing Easthampstead golf Club

 Hillman Trophy and Plate

 An inter-club matchplay competition for affiliated clubs in the BB&O region. Matchplay between 7 players from each club. 3 players in the handicap range 6 – 9 and 4 in the range 10 – 18.

 First round to be played in March/April. Teams losing in the first round of the Trophy Competition are automatically entered into the Plate competition.

 Clapham Common Trophy

 An interclub national competition featuring twelve players (maximum 18 handicap) split into a home & away team. The competition is Greensomes (alternate shot) play stableford. A knockout competition.  The winner is decided by the aggregate of all scores from both home and away legs.  First round usually early May

 Bourne Vanneck Trophy

 A national interclub competition for four players strokeplay (maximum 18 handicap) There is a gross and net score competition. The regional qualifier is at Downshire GC on Saturday 9th June.

Siemens Trophy

 A high handicap Four Ball Betterball Stableford competition for players with a handicap between 19 & 28. The team consists of four pairs split between home and away legs. Match winner to be decided by the aggregate of stableford scores.  First round May/June.

 Mitchell Thomson Trophy

 For ‘seniors’ (over 55’s) four pairs split home and away in greensomes stableford knockout format.  First round May.

Hawtree Trophy

(Easthampstead were winners 2010 and runners up 2011!)

 Mixed pairs Fourball stableford with Easthampstead Ladies in a knockout format. Four pairs per team. Two pairs at home, two pairs away..Full handicap. First round May/Early June.
